Doyle, Ph.D., is a nationally recognized expert in home modifications and outpatient occupational therapy, with more than four decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience advancing accessibility solutions for diverse populations. As CEO of The Home Accessibility Therapist LLC, Dr. Doyle leads specialized training programs for occupational and physical therapists, equipping them to excel in home safety assessments, complex rehab seating, and Medicare Part B outpatient services.

Credentials and Education

Dr. Doyle holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science with a dissertation focused on supporting therapists’ clinical decision-making for sensory impairments, and advanced degrees in occupational therapy from the University of Queensland and East Carolina University. Her board certifications include neurorehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association (1998 – 2003); she is a Certified Home Accessibility Mobility Professional (CHAMP) and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.

Clinical and Teaching Experience

Sue has served as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Puget Sound, Assistant Professor at Ithaca College, and educator at the University of Washington, shaping the next generation of occupational therapists through rigorous coursework in home modifications and evidence-based practice. Dr. Doyle’s clinical work includes leading home modification projects, community-based waiver services, and providing direct outpatient care that prioritizes client participation, safety, and independence.
